Wounds require different types of care depending of the type of injury and underlying health conditions of the patient. Generally speaking, with very simple wounds, all you need to do is clean the wound daily with soapy water and keep it covered until it heals. There are, however, more complicated wounds that require advanced wound care. At Santa Fe Mobile MD, we will provide you with in-home wound care for both simple and complex wounds. We also work with many of the nursing home agencies in town, who can send a nurse to your house to help with complex wound care. Nurse visits are often covered by your insurance. Of course, for very serious chronic wounds we work closely with the wound care center and hyperbaric medicine to help with treatment and healing.
