My professional journey began in Tanzania, where I volunteered as a teacher after college and witnessed first-hand the critical importance of access to holistic, patient-centered care in the context of family and community. As a fierce advocate for women’s rights, I felt called first to midwifery and later, to family medicine, where I learned to address the needs of my patients and their loved ones throughout the lifespan. Apart from raising my children, my greatest fulfilment in life comes, from the people who entrust me to partner with them not only to recover from illness and feel “like themselves,” but to thrive, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Since becoming a nurse in 2000, I have worked on the San Felipe Pueblo, on the border with Mexico, in Guatemala, on the Navajo Reservation in northern Arizona, and in community clinics in Santa Fe, including La Familia Medical Center and Christus St. Vincent Family Medicine. These varied experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the diversity that makes living in this world so rich and precious, and that requires I meet every encounter with humility and an open-mind. My passion lies in connecting with people one-on-one, seeking to understand what brings joy and meaning to their lives, and partnering with my patients to maximize their health and well-being.

In my free time, I cherish spending time with my family, hiking in the mountains, baking at altitude, and reading poetry & fiction.
